Yosemite Love Story: Mia & Alyssa’s Intimate LGTBQ Spring Wedding
Mia and Alyssa’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, authenticity, and lifelong connections. Held in the spring of 2025 at The Lodge at Two Moons, their ceremony took place in a secluded area nestled deep within Yosemite’s vast forest. Surrounded by towering trees and the peaceful sounds of nature, the setting felt both intimate and breathtaking. As evening arrived, the celebration continued outdoors beneath a sky full of stars, creating a magical atmosphere for their reception.
This wedding was especially meaningful to me because I’ve known Mia and her family for more than 25 years. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing several important moments in their lives, including Mia’s parents’ vow renewal and Mia’s Quinceañera. Being asked to capture Mia and Alyssa’s wedding felt incredibly special. It wasn’t just another wedding—it was a continuation of a story I’ve had the honor of documenting for decades.
Mia and Alyssa’s ceremony was tucked away within a quiet forest clearing, creating a peaceful and intimate space surrounded by nature. Soft sunlight filtered through the tall pines as family and friends gathered to witness their vows. Their ceremony beautifully honored their Catholic traditions, blending faith with personal touches that reflected their relationship and values. The forest setting created a calm and meaningful atmosphere as the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest loved ones.
A full mariachi band was also part of the celebration, bringing vibrant energy and cultural tradition to the day. Their music added a joyful and festive spirit to the ceremony and reception, complementing the heartfelt moments shared throughout Mia and Alyssa’s wedding celebration.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved into the evening with an outdoor reception beneath Yosemite’s star-filled sky at The Lodge at Two Moons. The forest setting created a warm and intimate environment where guests could relax, celebrate, and enjoy the night together.
The mariachi band returned during the reception, filling the evening with lively music that brought energy and joy to the celebration. Guests laughed, danced, and shared heartfelt moments while celebrating Mia and Alyssa’s love.
Later in the evening, after the mariachi band finished their set, the DJ took over and kept the celebration going. Guests were treated to a sparkler celebration as the DJ played a fun mix of music spanning various styles. The twinkling sparklers combined with the upbeat music created a magical and energetic atmosphere, keeping everyone dancing and celebrating well into the night under the stars.
Photographing Mia and Alyssa’s wedding was an experience I will never forget. Being part of such an important moment for a family I’ve known for so many years made the day incredibly meaningful.
